Hello world!
This is my first failed/defeated bard blog entry....Henry IV part 2 has become a little bit of a wall in the Bard-a-thon! ...so basically, what I am saying is I give up! ... Not on the complete works (i am still a firm Bard Geek!) just this play...for now!
So...I have noting Bard related to say other than I bought two Shakespeare text books from Oxfam book shop:
- Shakespeare, Select Bibliographical Guides edited by Stanley Wells
- Shakespeare’s Mouldy Tales: Recurrent plot motifs in Shakespearean drama by Leah Scrag
... I haven’t read either yet! (Second fail!)...I have also booked a theatre trip (yes incredibly geeky, what makes it more so is that I am going alone...any Bard lovers in Stratford on the 25th August chirp up!) ... the RSC are still doing £5 tickets for 16-25 year olds so if you haven’t signed up yet for the RSC KEY...do it! Now!
Oh and I have taken up baking (possibly to avoid Henry IV part 2?)...
Word on the street is that my brownies are fabulous! I wonder if there is such a thing as a Shakespeare cake?
Not to self: look for Shakespeare cake
Next stop: on the Bard-a-thon is going to be....’ A Winter’s Tale’! I'm booked in on a workshop at the Bolton Octagon with the lovely Elizabeth Newman to explore ‘A Winter’s Tale’ soon, so i had best get my little reading skates on!
Sorry for being absent
Peace out
Love
Sam
