Happy New Year!

Hello Internet!

just 6 hours until 2011 (and the Shakespeare-read-everything-athon starts!)...i hope you all have a lovely new year! i ....wont, sadly because i'm working at the pub!

This is my pub:
How many pubs feature in Shakespeare's plays? wonder if he was a big drinker???

I think this is a could point at which to introduce you lovely people to The Lane Ends as i am sure like many characters (yes i am a where the Lane Ends Pub is a mere building but it features heavily in my life) in my life it will pop up quiet a lot.....

note to self must mention 'Tall Norm' and 'Dodgy Dave' at some point....Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?..Maybe...

Anyway ...HAPPY NEW YEAR! to all of you...and please spare a little thought for me bringing the new year in knee deep in unwashed glasses and drunk men...

Peace Out

A Winters Tale

Hello my name is Sam and i am a Blog-aholic!

SNOW! SNOW! SNOW!....must relate to the lovely Bard....?

- A Winters Tale!

My beautiful mum enjoying the snow...

This is a snow man of my dad...the absent Edwards on our snow adventure (using the term adventure loosely because we only live a snow balls throw away from the park!) ...notice the bookies pen-cigar! the comedy in the photo is that my dad actually does smoke a pen (it sounds crazy but its true) and does so to every one's embarrassment at weddings, christenings and all manner of public events!

Happy Snow Day!

Peace Out

Where to start?

Hola Internet!
Which Shakespeare play should I start with? Now I am a wear (where, were, wear?  Without Phil my dyslexia support tutor I am screwed when it comes to words of many meaning! I shall leave it for you to decided...use a dictionary I hear you say?....I appear to have miss placed it) that I am making a mountain out of a mole hill but I don’t really know where to start (with my quest to read all the Bards work)...
Should I decide upon peoples suggestions?
A lot of people like: The Tempest – magical, a character stuck in a tree?! I studied an excerpt of the text in a Stanislavsky class once and I remember moving ‘logs’ and then imaging wading through treacle...but I am pretty sure that logs and treacle aren’t heavy themes...are they?
Or maybe Twelfth Night...of which I have no knowledge! Maybe an exciting place to start – THE UNKNOWN
Ahhhhhh! I don’t know ....chronological? That would make the most sense, which would mean I start with The Comedy of Errors. I went to see the Royal Shakespeare Company production of The Comedy of Errors and it was amazing! It was all twins and mad wigs...

Maybe I should look for signs? I have just recently watched ’10 things I hate about you’ which is based on The Taming of The Shrew (for the millionth time! I am a bit of a sucker for 90’s films, or anything that has a pop sound track and features Heath Ledger (Rest In Peace) singing and dancing about, Pre- tortured artist faze. )....

I love this scene! It’s a real child hood dream to have a ‘Prince charming’ of some sort declare his love to you in such a grand gesture...however at 24 years old I think my chances of being wooed over the hockey field in knee high socks are slim to nil!

"So wise so young, they say do never live long."
King Richard III (III, i, 79)

It is so tragic when people die young ...I dedicate this post to Heath Ledger, and for him I will start my adventure with The Taming of the Shrew!
Peace Out

Hello!

My name is Sam, I am an actress  - http://www.spotlight.com/interactive/cv/197890844653 , puppet maker and bar maid (unfortunately! pulling pints is lovely but not fulfilling in the grand sense)…I love dogs and have a spaniel called Grace.

…I have decided to have a so called ‘fling’ throughout the whole of 2011 with William Shakespeare. This blog will be my companion in my quest to read everything that William Shakespeare has ever written in 12 months…Starting on 01/01/11 and ending 01/01/12.

It should be mentioned that my interest in The Bard (William Shakespeare) has only blossomed in the last few years…until then I found it boring, unnecessary and as a person with Dyslexia a bit of an enemy! The closest I came to enjoying it was watching Leo and Clair slash about in the pool in Romeo and Juliet!

This blog is for everyone and anyone…Lets share the Bards work and the Love…

Peace out
